Cluster headaches attack in cyclical patterns, or clusters — which gives the condition its name. Bouts of frequent attacks, known as cluster periods, may last from weeks to months, usually followed by remission periods when the headache attacks stop completely. The pattern varies from one person to another, but most people have one or two cluster periods a year. During remission, no headaches occur for months, and sometimes even years. Treatments/therapy at Life Right could help make your attacks shorter and less severe.
A migraine can be disabling — with symptoms so severe, all you can think about is finding a dark, quiet place to lie down. Up to 17 percent of women and 6 percent of men have experienced a migraine. In some cases, these painful headaches are preceded or accompanied by a sensory warning sign (aura), such as flashes of light, blind spots or tingling in your arm or leg. A migraine is also often accompanied by other signs and symptoms, such as nausea, vomiting, and extreme sensitivity to light and sound. Migraine pain can be excruciating and may incapacitate you for hours or even days. Some people experience just the aura of a migraine without the head pain, this can be a loss of being able to see very well, lasting from a few hours to all day. This could be an emotional symptom being expressed via the sympathetic nervous system.
At Life Right we look at lifestyle issues such as diet, exercise, supplementation, body work, mind work and relationships examining your individual patterns can help reduce the frequency of migraine and stop the pain once it has started. Drug therapy looks to change your body / brain chemistry; we look to see how we can alter your body / brain chemistry via novel inputs to your nervous system e.g. the chemistry between you and your manager at work can alter how well you feel (because your body / brain chemistry changes too). We look to give you responsibility for your health care and look toward you to be a partner in getting you well. Self-help remedies and changes in lifestyle may make a tremendous difference for you.
A tension headache is the most common type of headache. A tension headache is generally a diffuse, mild to moderate pain that can be described as feeling as if there's a tight band around the head.
Managing a headache is often a balance between fostering healthy habits, identifying nutritional triggers, ensuring that you are able to exercise, cope with your life, enjoy interaction with others and work toward achievable dreams. Liferight could help you to get your headaches or migraines under control, without the side effects of medication. For those already on medication, always discuss the possibility with your GP that your medication is not responsible for your headaches. Sometimes medication can cause the symptoms they are given to treat.
